Seven officers and two members of staff from Hampshire Constabulary are helping in the Suffolk murder inquiry.
The officers, two sergeants and five PCs from across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, left the county on Friday, December 15.
They will be carrying out house-to-house enquiries, guarding scenes and manning cordons.
The officers will be assisting Suffolk Police until Saturday, December 23.
They are drawn from the following:
- Southampton – One Sergeant and one PC
- Portsmouth – One PC
- Isle of Wight – One Sergeant and two PCs
- North Hampshire – One PC
The staff both work with the police’s major investigation management system called Home Office Large Major Enquiry System (HOLMES).
They will be inputting and indexing data and evidence in relation to the murder inquiry.
They left for Suffolk on Saturday, December 16, and will remain for at least a month.
The staff are drawn from the Major Incident Room at Fratton.
The Constabulary would like to reassure residents that the deployment of the officers and staff will not impact on policing in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
