Police have released images of three antique silver ornaments believed to have been taken in a burglary, which were recovered from a stream in Emsworth.
which were recovered from a stream in Emsworth.
The trinkets – which are all approximately seven inches in height – were found by a member of the public in the stream just behind North Street, in the town centre, and handed into police.
The items were brought to the attention of officers from the Serious and Organised Crime Unit at Havant, which is currently investigating a series of antique burglaries across the Hampshire area.
“The burglaries we are investigating took place over a protracted period from six to 18 months ago,” said PC John Middleton.
“We have sent images of these antiques out to the victims of those burglaries but it’s just as likely that they may have been stolen recently.
“They could have been taken from the Emsworth area or further afield, possibly even West Sussex or the Chichester area.
"I’m sure somebody is missing them and we’d very much like to reunite them with their rightful owner.”
