HOW SAFE IS YOUR CAR'S KIDDIE SEAT? WE'LL TELL YOU FOR FREE PDF Print E-mail

Around 7000 children under the age of 10 are injured and some 30 killed as car passengers every year on British roads – so let us test your kiddie seat for free. That's the message from West Sussex County Council's Fire and Rescue Service and Road Safety experts, who have teamed up with West Sussex Primary Care Trust and Dial a Hubby, whose members are all specially trained in the fitting of child car seats.

They are offering you the opportunity to have your child car seats checked to ensure they are fitted correctly at the following venues between 10am and 1pm (no appointment necessary):

Crawley – Halfords, County Oak Retail Park – November 6.

Chichester – Halfords, Portfield Way – November 7.

Horsham – Halfords, Broadbridge Heath Retail Park November 8.

Haywards Heath – Sainsburys, Bannister Way – November 10.

Worthing – Halfords, Downlands Business Park – November 9.

Lionel Barnard, County Council Cabinet Member for Public Protection, said: "If you are at all unsure about how safe your children's car seats are then you will not be wasting your time to take advantage of this free offer.

"It will go a long way toward helping ensure that your child or children do not become just another tragic statistic."
