If anyone was in the Bosham channel today you might have seen a very interesting looking boat called Ocean Pearl. It looked to be _base_d on a traditional fishing boat of some sort but with free standing wooden masts. Does any one know any thing about this boat, she looked fab!

Hi,

Nick Gates a local boat builder in Chichester Harbour restored this boat, I found this text about the Ocean Pearl

The 42ft Ocean Pearl was fished out of Peterhead, Scotland, until the 1960s, and was later brought down to London for restoration. Here she languished for 20 years before being brought to Combes Boatyard in 1998. Work since has involved replacing around a third of her planking, over 30 _frame_s and futtocks, the stem, apron, sternpost, keelson, decks and cabins. Although originally fished under motor, she will be rigged for sail as a Manx nobby, with standing lug mainsail and mizzen. More info and photos on Nick gates website www.nickgates.co.uk

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Stephen
